Models and facilities

Choosing the right model or facility for your project

IERP brings together two experimental facilities, one for rodents and one for aquaculture, and a functional phenotyping platform. This organisation combines model production, in vivo studies and characterisation of biological responses.

Do you already know your species or the measurement you need? Choose the relevant entry to explore available capabilities and feasibility requirements.

Rodent models

Mice, rats and hamsters: production, breeding, housing and in vivo studies, according to health status and project constraints. The facility supports conventional, SPF or genetically modified models and has NSB2 containment capabilities.

Carpe-stylisée rose

Farmed fish

Trout and carp: rearing and experimentation in dedicated aquaculture facilities. Environmental conditions and containment capabilities are assessed according to the species, developmental stage and scientific question.

Zebrafish

From embryos to adults, the facility combines rearing, strain maintenance and access to the platform’s imaging and analysis methods. A dedicated area supports work with germ-free or gnotobiotic zebrafish and controlled microbiota, subject to project feasibility.

Functional phenotyping

In vivo imaging, multiscale microscopy, 3D histology, cytometry, physiology and behaviour: the platform helps select measurements suited to the model and scientific question. It can complement a study conducted at IERP or be used independently for species or samples compatible with its capabilities.

Is your model still to be defined?

Model selection depends on the scientific question, parameters to measure, timeline and experimental constraints. Tell us about your needs: the team will direct you to the relevant facility and discuss the initial feasibility requirements with you.
